The first Berggrün's we know of emigrated to the United States of America in 1907. Adolf Eduard Berggrün ( son of Theodor and Christine Berggrün ), his wife Bertha Berggrün born Johnson and their children Theodor Bernhard, Christian Hugo, and Irma Ida traveled on the passenger ship Prinz Sigismund over the Atlantic to New York. The family settled in Wilmington, Delaware. Adolf Eduard and his two sons found work in the shipyard. On July 10, 1913 they welcomed their second daughter Margaret Bertha Berggrün.
The next members of the Berggrün family would be arriving in the United States of America in 1956. Harry Georg Berggrün ( son of Eduard Rudolf and Amalie Adelheid Berggrün ), his wife Natalia and the children Erika, Olga and Lydia traveled on the passenger ship General Harry Taylor to New York and arrived on Oct. 24, 1956.
Harry's brother Emil Berggrün, his wife Emma and their children Edmund, Reinhold, Reinhilde, and Regina arrive on Dec. 7, 1956, by plane in New York. Both families settled in Chicago/ Illinois.
Australia became in 1950 the home of Artur Berggrün ( son of Eduard Rudolf and Amalie Adelheid Berggrün) and his children Aldona, Wanda, and Eduard.
